Descrição:4-Bromoquinoline is a quinoline derivative that has been shown to act as an adenosine receptor antagonist. It binds to the adenosine receptors and blocks the binding of the inhibitory neurotransmitter, preventing the release of substances that are important in regulating heart rate and respiration. 4-Bromoquinoline has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of amyloid beta fibril formation, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease. This compound also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in culture by affecting cell division at a stage before DNA synthesis. 4-Bromoquinoline has also been shown to affect other biological properties such as morphogenetic protein activity and cross-coupling reactions with 3-bromoquinolines. The biological properties of this compound are related to its ability to bind nitrogen atoms, bromoarenes, halides, and suzuki coupling reactions.
