Descrição:1,2-Bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)ethane is a chelating agent that contains a dicyclohexylphosphine ring. It is used in organic synthesis as a catalyst for metathesis reactions and as a ligand for metal ions. 1,2-Bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)ethane has been shown to be effective at binding amines. The coordination geometry of the molecule can be determined by x-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. The compound is an example of a chiral molecule with two different isomers, one of which has two methyl groups on the ethylene group and the other with two ethyl groups on the ethylene group. Structural analysis reveals that these two isomers are not mirror images of each other. Crystallography also shows that there are no functional groups present in this molecule because it does not contain any carbonyls or nitrogens
