This chemical has been shown to be an effective phase extraction agent for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDEs). Florisil column chromatography has been validated as a clean, economical, and sensitive method for the analysis of BEMPD residues. The sampler must be carefully selected to avoid interference with the analytical results.
