It is an inhibitor of enzymes in the citric acid cycle, which are involved in the synthesis and degradation of glucose. 3-Bromoethylacetate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and reduce tumor size in cancer studies. In addition, 3-bromoethylacetate has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor, glp-1r, in a molecular docking analysis.
