Informação sobre produto
- 3-Benzyloxypropionic acid3-(Phenylmethoxy)propanoic acid
3-Benzyloxypropanoic acid is an azide that is synthesized by the reaction of a chlorine atom with 3-hydroxypropanoic acid. It is used as a linker in polyesters, and has been shown to have mitogenic properties in weevils. The synthesis of this compound requires an alkali metal and transfer reagent, such as sodium azide or lithium azide. 3-Benzyloxypropanoic acid has also been shown to inhibit uropathogenic Esherichia coli and other bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. This compound shows no cytotoxic effects on mammalian cells because it does not bind to DNA or RNA, but instead binds to the cell membrane, inhibiting the transport of ions across the cell membrane.
