1,11-Bis(methanesulfonyloxy)-3,6,9-trioxandecane is a macrocyclic compound that is used as a cancer chemotherapy drug. It binds to the transporter and inhibits the efflux of drugs from cells into the bloodstream. This interaction with multidrug transporters is thought to be responsible for its anti-cancer effects. 1,11-Bis(methanesulfonyloxy)-3,6,9-trioxandecane has been shown to selectively interact with electron transfer proteins such as cytochrome P450 reductase and cytochrome P450 reductase 2C8 (CYP2C8). It also interacts with macrocycles such as those in DNA gyrase and topoisomerases.
