Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate is a brominated derivative of diphenyl ether with potential for use as a flame retardant. It has been shown to be toxic to liver cells in rats, and also affects the cell signaling pathway. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate can also be used as a solvent in sample preparation of 3t3-l1 preadipocytes and messenger RNA preparation. This chemical is ionized by chemical ionization and ionization techniques.
