Descrição:Bromotrimethylsilane is an inhibitor of the enzyme hydroxyl methyl transferases. It binds to the penicillin-binding protein and inhibits the activity of this enzyme, which is involved in the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Bromotrimethylsilane has been shown to be active against murine sarcoma virus and other viruses as well as bacterial growth. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the growth of several types of cancer cells, including leukemia cells from mice.
