Benazolin-ethyl ester is a chemical compound that is used in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to inhibit the activities of certain enzymes, such as aminopeptidase, xylanase, and β-glucosidase, which are responsible for breaking down proteins, polysaccharides, and sugars respectively. Benazolin-ethyl ester also has synergistic effects with other chemicals in wastewater treatment. It can be used to remove chromatographic science from water and increase the mineralization of organic matter in wastewater. The acute toxicity of this chemical is low and it can be detected by magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
