Descrição:Bromobimane is a monobromobimane dye that has been used in the past to measure the biofilm accumulation in wastewater treatment systems. Bromobimane binds to the thiol groups on proteins, causing a change in fluorescence properties. The bromobimane dye can also be used to monitor the viability of cells by measuring mitochondrial membrane potential, which is an indicator of cell health. Bromobimane has been shown to have antioxidant properties and can reduce glutathione levels in biological samples.
