Boc-Orn(Boc)-OH is a trifunctional molecule that has anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties. It is primarily used for the treatment of aspergillosis, but also shows efficacy in treating skin cancer. Boc-Orn(Boc)-OH inhibits tumor growth by targeting PD-L1 on the surface of tumor cells. The molecule is also being studied for its potential use as a sweetener. Boc-Orn(Boc)-OH has been shown to inhibit lipid accumulation and induce weight loss in vivo studies. This compound is an ester hydrochloride with a lipid nanoparticle formulation, which can be used to deliver other drugs to the site of cancer cells.
