The compound is characterized by intermolecular hydrogen bonding and hydrogen bonding between the hydroxy group and chloride, which are associated with its acidity.2-Bromobenzaldehyde has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
