4-Bromo-1-chloroisoquinoline is a drug substance that belongs to the class of b-raf inhibitors. It is a synthetic, non-proteinaceous molecule that binds to and blocks the activity of the b-raf protein. This binding prevents the activation of downstream signaling cascades, which are necessary for cell proliferation. 4-Bromo-1-chloroisoquinoline is expressed in a variety of mammalian cells, including amine producing cells such as those found in the gut and lungs. The drug has been shown to be an agonist at both CB2 and CXCR4 receptors with chemotactic properties. 4-Bromo-1-chloroisoquinoline has also shown antiinflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through its cb2 receptor agonist activity, thereby suppressing inflammation in tissues such as the airways and gastrointestinal tract.
