4-Butylcyclohexanecarboxylic Acid is a synthetic steroid that has been used as a contraceptive in women and as a male sex hormone. It is a non-competitive inhibitor of testosterone synthesis. 4-Butylcyclohexanecarboxylic Acid has been shown to have anti-cancer effects and may be useful for the treatment of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and other cancers. The drug has also been used to treat congestive heart disease, high cholesterol levels, and fatty acid buildup in the liver. The drug binds to progesterone receptors to inhibit ovulation in females and also inhibits the production of sperm by binding to testosterone receptors. This drug can cause an increase in blood pressure as well as other physiological effects when taken at very high doses or for long periods of time.
