Boc-Met-Leu-Phe-OH is a synthetic peptide that has been shown to inhibit voltage-dependent calcium channels. It is also a chemotactic agent, which stimulates chemotaxis in neutrophils. The inhibition of the influx of calcium ions through the voltage dependent calcium channels may be due to the inhibition of the kinase receptor for growth factors and extracellular Ca2+ ionophores in activated neutrophils.
