2-(4-Bromophenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole is a fluorescent and x-ray active molecule. It is a cross-coupled compound that can be used in devices for photophysical applications such as fluorescence and x-ray detection. This compound has been shown to have efficiencies of up to 90% for the detection of excitation light at 295 nm. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole has also been used in the preparation of high performance liquid phase extraction columns with good results.
