6-Bromohexanoyl chloride is a reactive chemical that can be used to synthesize chiral compounds. It can be used for the production of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and adrenergic receptor agonists. 6-Bromohexanoyl chloride is a potent inhibitor of influenza virus, which has been shown in transfection experiments. The lack of transport properties and stability in air make this compound unsuitable for use in other applications. 6-Bromohexanoyl chloride is an activated molecule that reacts with a variety of nucleophiles, including hydroxyl groups.
