Descrição:2-(Benzyloxy)acetic acid is a phenoxy compound that inhibits the enzyme amide and has been used to treat metabolic disorders. It has also been used as an inhibitor of enzymes in the synthetic pathway, such as 2-benzyloxyacetate, which is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of benzoic acid. 2-(Benzyloxy)acetic acid has also been shown to have degenerative disease-fighting properties and has been used to treat autoimmune diseases. This drug is synthetically made from aromatic halides by a process called asymmetric synthesis. The chemical name for this drug is 4-Hydroxy-2-[(2-benzyloxy)acetyl]phenol, but it can also be referred to as benzophenone-1 or BP1.
