Bis[1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane]palladium(0) is a ligand that is used in organic chemistry. It is most commonly found as a mixture of two enantiomers. This compound is prepared by the reaction of palladium chloride with diphenylphosphinobenzene in an amide solvent. The product can be purified by recrystallization or column chromatography. Bis[1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane]palladium(0) has been used to synthesize various organoboron compounds and molecules through cross-coupling reactions. This ligand dissociates under the influence of hydrogen gas and can be used to reduce metal halides.
