Benzylchlorodimethylsilane is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It is an organic compound that belongs to the group of chemical substances. Benzylchlorodimethylsilane has been used in the synthesis of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which can be found in the form of its chloride salt. This reaction intermediate has also been shown to act as an enhancer for hydrogen chloride and chlorine atom reactions. The crystalline structure of this chemical substance has been determined using phase chromatography and FT-IR spectroscopy. The particles are spherical with a diameter of 0.2 microns and are not soluble in water or alcohols.
