1,9-Bis(acryloyloxy)nonane is a molecule that has been stabilized with MEHQ (2-mercaptoethanol). It is used in organic chemistry as a diluent and solvent. The molecular weight of 1,9-Bis(acryloyloxy)nonane is 254.13 g/mol. This compound can be prepared by the reaction of diethylene glycol and 2-chloroethyl methyl ether with UV irradiation or through the reaction of 1,8-bis(acryloyloxy)octane and tetrahydrofuran with UV irradiation. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy has shown that the chemical structure of 1,9-Bis(acryloyloxy)nonane contains three functional groups: an aliphatic hydrocarbon group (-CH2), a carbamate group (-CONH2), and a sulfoxide group (-SO).
