Descrição:
2-Bromo-5-fluorobenzyl amine is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) inhibitor that is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug inhibits DPP4, which is an enzyme that inactivates glucagon and incretins in the intestinal tract. This inhibition leads to increased levels of glucagon and incretins, which are hormones that stimulate insulin production. 2-Bromo-5-fluorobenzyl amine has been shown to inhibit DPP4 activity in vitro with a Ki value of 0.2 µM, and it has been shown to have oral efficacy in vivo at doses of 1 mg/kg/day or less. It also exhibits selectivity for DPP4 over other peptidases such as chymotrypsin, trypsin and elastase, with Ki values >10 µM.
