2-Bromo-4,5-dimethoxyphenylacetic acid is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer. It acts by inhibiting the growth and proliferation of cancer cells. 2-Bromo-4,5-dimethoxyphenylacetic acid inhibits cancer cell division by amide formation with DNA, leading to DNA strand breakage. This drug also prevents the growth and proliferation of cancer cells by preventing their division. 2-Bromo-4,5-dimethoxyphenylacetic acid is used as a precursor for other anti-cancer agents that are synthesized from it and have increased potency.
