The compound bis(trifluoromethyl)arsinous acid anhydride is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of dopamine D3 receptors. This compound is structurally related to diazonium salts and displays pharmacokinetic properties similar to those of the parent drug. Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsinous acid anhydride is metabolized by oxidation and hydrolysis, with only small amounts of unchanged compound excreted in urine. It has been studied as a potential treatment for Parkinson's disease and other central nervous system disorders. The compound also has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and is detectable in brain tissue after chronic oral administration.
