2,5-Bis(2,4-Dichloro-5-Fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-Oxadiazole is a chlorinated aromatic compound that is an insecticide. It is used to control pests such as aphids and thrips on various plants. 2,5-Bis(2,4-Dichloro-5-Fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-Oxadiazole was first synthesized in the early 1950s. The insecticidal properties of 2,5-bis(2,4-dichloro-5 fluorophenyl)-1,3,4 oxadiazole were discovered by the Swiss chemist Hans Rüfner in 1954. This discovery was made when he noticed that the product stained his hands yellow after handling it.
