Bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)(methyl)phosphine tetrafluoroborate is a reagent used for the preparation of phosphines. It is prepared from 1,1-diethyl-2-(methyl)phosphinic acid and tetrafluoroboric acid. The compound is a nonsymmetrical phosphine ligand that can be used in palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. This reagent has been used for the preparation of various phosphines with different substituents. The compound has also been used as an organic solvent and is insoluble in water.
