It has been shown that 4-bromotetrafluoropyridine will react with acyl halides to form acyl fluorides or acyl chlorides. The compound also undergoes thermodynamic changes in the presence of various halide ions and is an excellent solvent for the reaction of phosphorus pentachloride with metal carbonyls. 4-Bromotetrafluoropyridine exhibits vibrational properties due to its symmetrical structure and fluorine atom.
