3-Coumaranone is a natural compound found in plants. It is reactive and has inhibitory properties on the mitochondrial membrane potential. 3-Coumaranone can be used as an agent for treating autoimmune diseases and bowel disease. 3-Coumaranone has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, which may help prevent or treat conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease or diabetic neuropathy. 3-Coumaranone also inhibits HIV infection by binding to the virus, preventing it from attaching to the cell membrane.
