3-[1-[(4-Chlorophenyl)Methyl]-5-Fluoro-3-Methylindol-2-Yl]-2,2-Dimethylpropanoic Acid is a fluorescent probe that has been shown to be an effective indicator of cytosolic Ca2+ levels in the pancreas. It binds to the acetylcholine receptor and can be used as a marker for the uptake of acetylcholine by nerve cells. 3-[1-[(4-Chlorophenyl)Methyl]-5-Fluoro-3-Methylindol-2-Yl]-2,2-Dimethylpropanoic Acid is also used as an experimental model for protein synthesis and glomerular filtration rate. The compound is a potent antimicrobial agent.
