2-Cyano-N-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)acetamide is an organic compound that belongs to the heterocyclic compounds. It is a biphasic system which consists of two phases: the hydroximoyl and nitrile phases. The biphasic system has been used in Australian chemistry for the synthesis of 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions. In this reaction, 2-cyano-N-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)acetamide acts as a dipolarophile and reacts with an electrophile to form a heterocycle. 2-Cyano-N-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)acetamide can also react with chlorides and oxides to form new compounds, such as cycloaddition reactions with atropisomerism.
