Descrição:4-Chromanone is a natural compound that has been shown to be an effective treatment for bowel disease. In vitro antifungal activity tests have shown that 4-chromanone is capable of inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans and other fungi. 4-Chromanone has been shown to inhibit the growth of murine hepatoma cells in vitro, which may be due to its ability to interfere with cell division. This compound also shows anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as a treatment for coronary heart diseases. 4-Chromanone has been shown to inhibit the development of atherosclerosis in vivo by reducing the oxidation of LDL cholesterol and preventing platelet aggregation. The skeleton, a model system and in vitro assays have all shown that 4-chromanone has anticancer activities, including cytotoxicity against human prostate cancer cells.
