Acetaminophen is a pain-relieving medication which also reduces fever. It belongs to the class of drugs known as analgesics, antipyretics and anti-inflammatory agents. Acetaminophen is used in many over-the-counter products for headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, colds and fevers. Acetaminophen relieves pain by blocking the production of prostaglandins. These bacteria are thought to be responsible for many skin infections.
