1-[2-Chloro-1,2-Bis(4-Methoxyphenyl)Vinyl]-4-Methoxy-Benzene (CMVP) is a phenol derivative that is used as an antiestrogen in the treatment of breast cancer. It has been shown to inhibit prolactin secretion by binding to the integrin receptor, and it can be used to treat renal cell carcinoma. CMVP also inhibits oxidative injury in rat liver microsomes, and this effect is reduced by addition of estradiol benzoate. This drug has also been shown to suppress autoimmune diseases such as arthritis in rats. CMVP does not affect bowel function or HIV infection in animals at physiological levels.
