Descrição:
1-Chloro-2,4-dimethoxybenzene is a chlorinated aromatic compound that has been used as a solvent. It is soluble in n-hexane and insoluble in water. 1-Chloro-2,4-dimethoxybenzene can be used to synthesize cross-coupling reactions of aryl chlorides with fatty acids or indian fatty acid. The chloride anion of 1-chloro-2,4-dimethoxybenzene reacts with the ethyl linoleate to form an ester and chloride ion. 1-Chloro-2,4-dimethoxybenzene also reacts with ethyl linoleate and the chloride ion to form an ester and methyl chloride. This compound can be synthesized using mass spectrometric methods or by reacting hexadecanoic acid with 2,4 dimethoxyaniline.
