4-Carboxy-2-nitrophenylboronicacid is a chemical compound with the formula (CH3CO)2NOB. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and polar organic solvents. The compound is used as a reagent for the synthesis of amino acids and peptides, and it has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of protein glycosylation by blocking the formation of alpha-dicarbonyl sugars. 4-Carboxy-2-nitrophenylboronic acid has also been used in the preparation of cyclopropane carboxylic acids.
