Chloroplatinic acid is a catalyst that is used in electrochemical reactions. It has been shown to be capable of oxidizing hydrogen peroxide, nitrite ion, and copper chloride by the action of an electric current. Chloroplatinic acid is also synergistic with ethylene diamine. It has been shown to have a high detection sensitivity and can be used as a catalyst for oxidation reactions.
