Calmidazolium chloride is a cyclase inhibitor that blocks the production of cAMP. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling and thereby reduce the production of effector proteins in response to TLR stimulation. Calmidazolium chloride can also block intracellular calcium levels by inhibiting cyclase activity and thus, reducing the release of Ca2+ from intracellular stores. This inhibition leads to a reduction in protein synthesis and mitochondrial membrane potential, which results in cell death.
