Calcium sulfate dihydrate is a white crystalline powder that is produced by the reaction of calcium and sulfuric acid. It can be used as an antacid, laxative, or dietary supplement. Calcium sulfate dihydrate has been shown to have therapeutic benefits in autoimmune diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease. This compound also possesses anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The optimum concentration for this compound has been found to be 10%.
