Descrição:Chromeazurol B is a cationic surfactant that forms a ternary complex with human serum and potassium dichromate. This complex has been detected by plasma mass spectrometry in the presence of sodium carbonate. Chromeazurol B can be analyzed histologically using staining techniques such as hematoxylin and eosin or by electron microscopy. The presence of a hydroxy derivative can be confirmed by adding hydrochloric acid to the sample, which causes the chromium ion to form an iron-binding complex. Chromeazurol B is currently being used as a reagent for histochemical staining in the detection of malonic acid in body tissues.
