Descrição:Clove oil is a natural product that contains eugenol. It has been shown to have anion radical scavenging properties, which are attributed to the presence of phenolic compounds such as eugenol. Clove oil has been used in the treatment of opportunistic fungal infections and has shown significant cytotoxicity against Candida glabrata. Clove oil is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS). Oxidative stress caused by ROS can lead to damage of DNA, proteins, and lipids in cells. Clove oil is also used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) because it has a rate constant that is higher than water vapor. This makes clove oil a good model system for the study of biological systems. The optimum concentration of clove oil for PCR is 0.01%.
