• Descrição: (S)-(-)-Carvedilol is a stereoselective beta-blocker that selectively binds to β1-adrenergic receptors. It decreases myocardial oxygen demand and, as a result, lowers blood pressure. (S)-(-)-Carvedilol has also been shown to inhibit the growth of some bacteria in vitro and reduce the risk of infection in humans. High-performance liquid chromatography is used for the determination of plasma concentrations and it can be used as a sample preparation method for cellular studies. (S)-(-)-Carvedilol can be injected into the citric acid cycle to produce citric acid or injected intravenously.
