N-[3-Chloro-4-[(3-fluorobenzyl)oxy]phenyl]-6-iodoquinazolin-4-amine is a dihedral compound that has been shown to have antitumor activity. It inhibits the phosphorylation of tyrosine on the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the activation of protein kinase B (PKB). The compound also binds to lapatinib, an anti-cancer drug with a similar mechanism of action. In addition, N-[3-Chloro-4-[(3-fluorobenzyl)oxy]phenyl]-6-iodoquinazolin-4-amine can be made from 2-amino-5-(chloromethyl)-benzoic acid and acetone in a chemically simple process.
