Clidinium bromide is a fatty acid that is used as a pharmaceutical preparation. It has been shown to be an effective treatment for infectious diseases with high mortality rates, such as tuberculosis. Clidinium bromide activates the immune system by stimulating the production of cytokines and other inflammatory mediators. This drug also has diagnostic properties, which may be due to its ability to bind to receptor sites on monoclonal antibodies or sample preparation reagents. Clidinium bromide can also be used as an absorption enhancer in matrix effect experiments, and it is statistically active at concentrations between 0.1-1 μM. The optimal concentration for receptor activity has been found to be between 1-5 μM.
Clidinium bromide binds to integrin receptors in the plasma membrane of cells, leading to increased cell proliferation and activation of intracellular signaling pathways.
