Descrição:Clocortolone pivalate is a synthetic corticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory properties and is used to treat allergic reactions. Clocortolone pivalate is not active against bacterial infections. The drug has been shown to be effective for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in children and adults, but it does not appear to be as effective in the long-term as other treatments. This may be due to its inability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α or IL-1β. Clocortolone pivalate also binds to the adenosine receptor, which may explain its clinical response.
