Columbianetin is a natural compound that is extracted from the angelicae dahuricae plant. It has shown to have pharmacokinetic properties and can be used as an anti-inflammatory agent. Columbianetin has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase in rat liver microsomes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit matrix effect and ATP-dependent transport. This compound also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication of DNA.
