Combretastatin A4 phosphate disodium salt is a potential anticancer agent that has shown to be effective in the treatment of certain cancers, including breast, prostate and lung cancer. It inhibits tumor growth by blocking the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), which is involved in inflammation. Combretastatin A4 phosphate disodium salt also inhibits cytosolic Ca2+ release, which may be due to its ability to inhibit phospholipase C activity. This drug has significant cytotoxicity against various tumor cells, with an IC50 value of 0.1 μM. Combretastatin A4 phosphate disodium salt also specifically binds to combretastatin receptors and inhibits cellular physiology such as receptor activity and protein synthesis.
