(2S)-7-Chloro-3',4,6-Trimethoxy-5'-Methylspiro[1-Benzofuran-2,4'-Cyclohexa-2,5-Diene]-1',3-Dione is a synthetic macrocyclic compound with a molecular formula of C14H14ClO. It has been shown to have antifungal properties in microbial transformation and deuterated spectrometric studies. (2S)-7-Chloro-3',4,6-Trimethoxy-5'-Methylspiro[1-Benzofuran-2,4'-Cyclohexa-2,5--Diene]-1',3--Dione has been prepared by hydrogenation of the corresponding nitrosobenzene derivative. The nmr spectrum shows that the molecule consists of a 7 membered ring with two methoxy groups on the cyclopentane ring
