Descrição:Closantel is a drug that is used to treat worm infections. Closantel binds to the enzyme target and inhibits its function, leading to cell death. Closantel has been shown to be effective against resistant mutants in wastewater treatment, as well as in animal studies. The enzyme inhibitor activity of closantel can be measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and fluorescence detection. It also shows protein binding properties with anthelmintic drugs. This drug has been shown to have no significant toxicity for humans at therapeutic doses, and is not detectable in human serum or urine samples when taken orally. It has been detected in human serum after intravenous administration, but this route of administration should be avoided due to the risk of serious adverse effects.
