Descrição

Carbon black is a solid, black pigment that is widely used in inks, plastics, and paints. It can be made from either natural or synthetic substances. Graphitized carbon black is a form of carbon black that has been chemically modified to increase its surface area. The increased surface area allows for a greater number of polymerase chains to bind to the carbon surface, increasing the rate of DNA synthesis. This type of carbon black also adsorbs glycol ethers, water vapor, and activated oxygen molecules more effectively than other types of carbon blacks. Graphitized carbon black with particle sizes between 100-200 microns was found to be most effective for wastewater treatment by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies.
