DL-2-(4-Chlorophenyl)glycine is a chiral analyte that can be detected by optical and mass spectrometry. It has an acidic nature and an anionic charge, which can be detected using electroosmotic flow cytometry. The analyte binds to β-cyclodextrin in solution, which decreases the analyte's solubility and makes it more detectable. DL-2-(4-Chlorophenyl)glycine is also sensitive to changes in pH and ionic strength.
